Academic Achievement Centers

Remember to meet often with your Independent Study instructor(s) and stay up-to-date with your IS course assignments.

Academic Achievement Centers - Courses:
Most courses are taught in the independent study format, but many are also taught in face to face and online formats. The independent study option allows students to choose their own consistent weekly attendance times and work individually rather than in a classroom setting. The independent study format allows the student and teacher to choose the student’s appointment times based on student/faculty schedules.

Students also have the option of enrolling later than in other classes and/or finishing before the regular semester ends. Instructors confer with students on a regular basis, explain materials, answer questions, administer tests and assignments, and monitor progress.   Both college credit courses and developmental courses are offered in the various Butler Academic Achievement Centers.
