Early Childhood Education

Little girl smiling If you love working with young children, Butler has several educational options to help make your career–oriented dreams come true.

Through Butler’s early childhood education program, you can earn an Associate in Applied Science, a one-year certificate in early childhood education, or complete course work for a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or the Early Childhood Associate Apprenticeship Program, ECAAP. And these are just a few of the reasons why Butler’s early childhood education program has a reputation as one of the finest training programs in the state.

Our program links directly to the EduCare Center, an educationally based lab–school on the El Dorado campus, licensed for 121 children from 2 weeks to 12 years of age. The center is nationally accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and has a five–star rating through the Kansas Quality Rating Improvement System. You will receive exemplary training at this site if you choose to work here or to complete your practicum experience with us!

Butler’s early childhood program options provide affordable educational career paths for teachers, directors, home daycare providers, Head Start and Early Head Start teachers and resource personnel, resource and referral agencies, paraprofessionals, and nannies.

You can feel good about yourself when you get involved in the fulfilling program of early childhood education. And as more–and–more children access early childhood education and care services each year, the demand for early childhood professionals only grows—just like the kids we care for!
