Jane Watkins

Jane WatkinsJane Watkins has an AB in English from Fort Hays State University and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University.She is a former high school and middle school teacher who has taught every level of ability from honors courses to remedial courses. She began teaching at Butler in 1987. In 1996 Watkins was honored in Who's Who among American College and University Instructors.

In 1996, the University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts and Sciences presented her with the Teacher Recognition Award as an outstanding teacher and mentor. In 1998, Watkins was given an Excellence in Teaching Award by Butler Community College. Watkins was also recognized as an Outstanding Faculty Member in 1998 and in 1999 by The Order of the Purple, an honors society for Butler graduates who have met or exceeded a 3.75 GPA. A committee of faculty representatives chose Watkins as the Master Teacher for Butler Community College in 2000.

Watkins teaches English Composition I and II, American Literature II, Children's Literature and Fundamentals of English.
