Technical Theatre Scholarship Interview Guidelines

To register for an audition, you'll need to fill out the online registration form on the Fine Arts and Communication Scholarships page. To prepare for your audition, follow the information below.

Technical Theatre Scholarship Interviews

Butler Community College offers activity scholarships that cover in-state tuition and books for students participating in music, theatre, art, and mass communication.

Due to restrictions that COVID-19 has imposed, we are offering the option of holding virtual auditions and interviews for Theatre Scholarships.  You do not need to major in theatre to receive an activity scholarship.

The audition/interview requirements for a Technical Theatre Scholarship are:

  • Resume, including GPA
  • Portfolio/photos of work from theatre productions/concerts OR any woodworking or welding projects.
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher
  • A recent photograph

E-Mail to Bob Peterson, Theatre Department at Theatre@butlercc.edu

If you would prefer to audition in person, Butler provides a safe space in which the audition will be conducted.  The audition will be conducted by the college instructor/director with one student manager in attendance.
