Teacher Aide

Part-time/25 hours per week

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities of the part-time Teacher Aide will include the care, safety and well-being of all children in the group. Will also assist with carrying out activities. Will help children learn to adapt to and cope with real life situations and assist in keeping the environment organized, safe, clean and pleasant. Must have a general knowledge of nutrition, health and first aid; the ability to be a role model for young children and to apply understating of developmental levels to activities; have a willingness to increase understanding of child development; and be comfortable in interacting with and caring for children. Must also have the ability to adapt to new situations and new children and be willing to accept supervision. Prior experience working with a variety of ages of young children required. Associate’s degree in child development or its equivalent (30 credit hours in early childhood classes) preferred. Must have a minimum of 6 hours in Early Childhood Development or preschool/school age growth and development. Must have good health as confirmed by a physician, possess certificate (Educare will assist the employee to obtain certification within 30 days of hire if needed) of First Aid training and Adult, Child and Infant CPR, Child Abuse and Neglect with Head Trauma, Basic Child Development and Safe Sleep Practices., be tuberculosis free and have KBI clearance. Accommodation Specialist, Disability Services (part-time)

28 hours per week

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Position serves as paraprofessional assistant to the Director of Disability Services to provide supportive services for students with disabilities. Shall be responsible for assisting students with class assignments, study skill development, and testing in academic/vocational courses. (28 hour per week position). Required Knowledge and Skills: a good background in working with persons with disabilities; excellent arbitration skills to disseminate anger and frustration and turn into cooperative learning experience; need to be open and honest, and willing to incorporate the principle of “tough love” in dealing with persons with disabilities; ability to work as a team member to assist in the efficient operation of the entire division; typing and word processing skills (accuracy imperative); above average reading and writing skills; excellent oral communication skills -- listening and speaking; organizational, filing, and general clerical skills; patience and ability to relate pleasantly to upset people; ability to be tactful and to maintain confidentiality (a high priority in the division); and the ability to work as a team member to assist in the efficient operation of the entire division. Preferred Experience: previous work in an educational setting preferred and previous paraprofessional experience with disabled students in a high school or college setting preferred. Custodial Technician (full-time)

Duties and Requirements:

The full-time Custodial Technician is responsible for cleaning offices, hallways, stairwells, rest rooms, classrooms, maintenance areas and public areas. Each area will have specific duties to attend to. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be flexible in working routine in order to accommodate the many changes of college events. Must be able to work overtime and adapt to unscheduled activities. Must have knowledge of chemical products use and storage. Must be in good physical health and possess a valid driver’s license. Ability to lift 50 lbs. without limitations required as well as knowledge of custodial duties, associated equipment and cleaning solvents. High school diploma or equivalent required. Instructional Technology Specialist (full-time)

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Instructional Technology Specialist will work with the Director Instructional Technology under the direction of the Associate Vice-President of Academics. He/she will be responsible for training faculty, staff and administration in computer technologies applicable to the classroom and work experience, providing support for faculty working on instructional technology projects, and facilitating procedures related to delivery of web-enhanced and online courses.  Required Knowledge and Skills: a high degree of organizational and planning skills; thorough knowledge of instructional technology; good written and oral communication skills; excellent teaching/training skills; and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.  Required Experience; minimum of one year experience in using technology in education and prior experience in training/teaching adults. Associate Dean, Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Associate Dean, Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety is responsible for working with the Dean of Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety in the development, implementation, and supervision of curriculum and instruction within the division. Cook - EduCare Center (part-time/28 hours per week)

8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. three days a week and 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. two days a week

Duties and Requirements: The part-time EduCare Center Cook oversees operations of the food program, including hygiene, meal planning and preparation, food distribution to rooms, supervision of student workers, record keeping and all kitchen operations; ensures adherence to Child Care Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.

Required Knowledge and Skills: increasing understanding of child growth and development; the ability to role-model for children, volunteers, and parents; personal hygiene; the ability to maintain a safe, clean, appropriate environment for children and staff; general knowledge of nutrition, health and first-aid; willingness to accept supervision; a special ability to maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parents; willingness to read, to learn, and to increase understanding of child development through workshops and study; and the ability to maintain accurate written records; and perform mathematical calculations accurately.

Experience and Requirements: good health as confirmed by physician required; must be Tuberculosis free; KBI Clearance for teaching required; and must attend a food safety course and attend workshops as needed. Prior experience working with young children preferred and prior experience cooking for young children preferred.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Additional requirements include: good health as confirmed by physician within the past year prior to the first day of employment. Health assessments are required to be updated every two years; tuberculosis free; annual KBI clearance; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 100 pounds; frequent stooping and bending; frequent walking and standing; adhere to NAEYC accreditation standards; and possess certificate of First Aid training and Adult, Child and Infant CPR.
