Associate Dean, Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Associate Dean, Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety is responsible for working with the Dean of Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety in the development, implementation, and supervision of curriculum and instruction within the division. The Associate Dean will assist the Dean in the supervision of full-and part-time faculty, instructional support staff, and other personnel as assigned within the division.  The Associate Dean works under the supervision of the Dean of Health, Early Childhood and Public Safety.  Required Knowledge and Skills: must be able to interact professionally and effectively with faculty, administration, staff, students and community; must be able to demonstrate and apply pedagogy to all curriculum areas within the Health, Early Childhood, and Public Safety Division; must demonstrate an understanding of curriculum development to meet current and future workforce development needs; must be able to use independent judgment; must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; must possess excellent organizational and time management skills; must have general knowledge of budgeting and purchasing procedures; and must possess basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database management computer skills.  Required Experience: successful teaching/training experience in a discipline within the division with community college experience preferred; demonstrated success in an organizational leadership role with Administrative/management experience preferred.  Required Educational Background: Master’s degree required.  The applicant may be requested to authorize the College to procure a consumer report(s) for employment purposes.

Assistant Director - Human Resources (full-time)

Duties and Requirements:
The Assistant Director-Human Resources/Staff Development is responsible for the administration of Human Resource functions at Butler of Andover, for the administration of all Staff Development functions college wide and for benefits management. The Assistant Director also serves in an advisory capacity to employees of the college administration in matters of compensation, policy interpretation, disciplinary and grievance proceedings, regulatory changes, and technical human resources issues. Responsibilities also include supervision of assigned staff.

Required Knowledge and Skills: knowledge of and ability to interpret employment laws and applicable practices required; must be able to communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and written) with students, employees and the public; must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, business related internet services, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management systems and the use of a large on-line computerized system as it relates to human resource functions; possess the ability to develop, interpret and implement policies, procedures and systems; must be able to evaluate complex problems, make appropriate decisions and take corrective action. Must have extensive written and verbal communication skills, be able to write clear and concise letters and proposals, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to deal effectively with a variety of people in a variety of situations; must be able to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive material; and must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.

Required Experience: thorough knowledge of human resource functions with a minimum of 2 years human resources experience; previous supervisory experience required; and benefits/compensation experience required. Experience working with a web-based integrated database system preferred.

Engineering Graphics candidates should have experience with Autodesk software, specifically AutoCAD, and experience with mechanical drawings and\or residential architecture drawings.

Test Administrator (part-time/20 hours per week)

Duties and Requirements:
The part-time Test Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of test administration in the Butler of Andover Testing Center. This includes organizing, securing and administering tests while maintaining an environment conducive to fair and accurate testing of students. The person employed in this position will be responsible for management of clerical tasks related to testing, test record keeping, test appointment scheduling, security of testing files, testing conditions, and confidentiality issues as it relates to placement and academic testing. Must be able to multi-task, be able to maintain confidentiality, possess the ability to maintain good working relationships, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must also possess good oral and written communication skills as well as good organizational skills. Experience with computer hardware and software required, as well as experience in records management in both paper and computer uses. Experience in an educational setting preferred. Cook - EduCare Center (part-time/28 hours per week)

8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. three days a week and 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. two days a week

Duties and Requirements: The part-time EduCare Center Cook oversees operations of the food program, including hygiene, meal planning and preparation, food distribution to rooms, supervision of student workers, record keeping and all kitchen operations; ensures adherence to Child Care Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.

Required Knowledge and Skills: increasing understanding of child growth and development; the ability to role-model for children, volunteers, and parents; personal hygiene; the ability to maintain a safe, clean, appropriate environment for children and staff; general knowledge of nutrition, health and first-aid; willingness to accept supervision; a special ability to maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parents; willingness to read, to learn, and to increase understanding of child development through workshops and study; and the ability to maintain accurate written records; and perform mathematical calculations accurately.

Experience and Requirements: good health as confirmed by physician required; must be Tuberculosis free; KBI Clearance for teaching required; and must attend a food safety course and attend workshops as needed. Prior experience working with young children preferred and prior experience cooking for young children preferred.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Additional requirements include: good health as confirmed by physician within the past year prior to the first day of employment. Health assessments are required to be updated every two years; tuberculosis free; annual KBI clearance; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 100 pounds; frequent stooping and bending; frequent walking and standing; adhere to NAEYC accreditation standards; and possess certificate of First Aid training and Adult, Child and Infant CPR. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Lead Technician (full-time)

Duties and Requirements: The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician performs maintenance and repair on all campus HVAC systems. The Technician also does minor electrical and plumbing installations, repairs and maintenance. This position has supervisory authority while under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of General Services- Facilities Management.

Required knowledge and skills include: must show pride in craftsmanship; ability to do trade related mathematics; must be able to communicate with other trades; must be able to safely direct helpers under him; make diagnostic decisions based on education, experience and instrument readiness; ability to climb, stood, bend and work in awkward positions; cannot be afraid of heights; ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; can work indoors and outdoors; can work overtime and weekends in emergencies; must be CFC certified type U Universal; must either know or be able to measure existing chilled water, hot water and air flow rates, valve CV and flow coefficients; must be able to balance air flow and set variable volume boxes; must be able to calculate heat gain and cooling load to properly size heating and cooling equipment; and must keep up to date in E.P.A. regulations and practices to remain in compliance. Refrigerant recovery and reclaiming safe storage clean air act.

Required experience includes: be working licensed journeyman with a minimum of 8 years experience.
