Massage therapy is an important and rewarding health care profession. Massage therapists may work either as salaried / commissioned employees or as independent practitioners. A massage therapist may charge $25 to $60 an hour (according to the Kansas Wage Survey, 2010 Edition, the median wage was $23.26/hr.) and may work in a variety of interesting settings.

• Group practice
• An office in your own home
• Physicians' offices and clinics
• Hospitals and wellness centers
• Nursing homes/hospices
• Chiropractic offices
• Onsite (chair massage in offices, airports, public events, etc. )
• Health clubs and fitness centers
• Sports teams and events (both amateur and professional)
