Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for the 2 year college. Phi Theta Kappans are recognized for their academic achievement as well as their community service, fellowship, and leadership. The four hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa, our guiding principles for programming, include: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. Our many traditions and customs make this society a "Fellowship of Scholars".
To be eligible for Phi Theta Kappa, you must have completed a minimum of 12 hours from Butler Community College. Your cumulative GPA must be a minimum of 3.5 with at least 12 hours from Butler Community College. Part-time, international, and non-traditional students with a prior degree are eligible as long as they are currently attending Butler and have met the requirements. A brief information session will be held on February 12 in El Dorado in the 1000 building, Purple Room from 6-7pm and February 13 in Andover in the 6000 building, room 6416 from 6-7pm. You may bring your application and pay your membership fees at this time. Each year we seek enthusiastic, dedicated, leaders for our organization. We will be selecting officers each semester and will begin "on the job training" through our new "Chapter Officer Academy" which meets every Thursday from 5:30-6:00pm (except weeks that we have member meetings.) The Officer meetings will follow the Chapter Officer Academy and will be from 6-7pm. We hope you will join us. Contact ptk@butlercc.edu if you have questions (316-733-3251). Mid April is the last chance to join each year in order to get in the commencement program. Be sure to fill out paper or online Member Fact Sheet to get your Chapter t-shirt.
