About Adult Education

President Obama said, "I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be community college or a four-year school; vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high school diploma."

With a variety of class options in locations such as El Dorado, Andover, Wichita and extension sites across the area, Butler Adult Education has the tools and staff necessary to help adults enter the work force or college environment.

Our basic education classes help students begin their educational journey through a focus on improving their critical thinking, reading and math skills. Classes start every five weeks and are catered to each student’s educational needs. With our Jumpstart program, students at our El Dorado location do not need to wait for the next class to start; they can jump in that same day to start working on their educational goals.

The GED prep courses offered by Butler Adult Ed are one of a kind. Each student has an educational plan created to focus on helping them to pass the GED and earn their Kansas State High School Diploma. The GED consists of four tests: Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science and Social Studies. Butler Community College offers GED testing at both the El Dorado and Andover sites by appointment.

We also offer courses to help students succeed outside of the classroom. With a variety of possibilities offered throughout the year, Butler Adult Ed can help students feel confident in life. Some courses offered include: Personal Finance, Technology Made Easy, WorkKEYs Training and Testing, and many more.
