Textbook Return Policy: Fall 2014

  • A Butler Bookstore receipt is required
  • Books purchased NEW must remain in original condition
    • Free of writing or highlighting
    • Contain all components
    • Passwords, authorization codes and/or access codes unopened and inactivated
    • Shrink-wrap intact
    • Outside appearance should be in pristine condition
  • Books purchased USED
    • Must contain all components
  • Clothing, Gifts, and Supplies are returnable for 15 days from the date of purchase, with a receipt, in new condition, in original packaging.

Textbook Refund Deadlines

Intersession/Fall 2014

  • Intersession Classes -- Books are returnable through end of the business day of the first day of the intersession class.
  • 16 Week Classes -- Books are returnable for 7 business days from the first day of the 16 week class or purchase date until 9-5-14.
  • 12 Week, 8 Week, 5 Week and 4 Week Classes -- Books are returnable for 4 business days from the first day of the specific term or purchase date until 11-3-2014.
  • Allied Health Classes -- Returnable through the 1st two days of class.
  • Courses less than 4 weeks have no refund after the first class meeting.

Books and study aids purchased during the last 2 weeks of class will only be considered for buy-back.

**The student is responsible for providing a course schedule showing class start date.

Refund Payment: If the student has an outstanding balance with the college the credit will be applied to the student’s account; otherwise, a check will be mailed to the student in a timely manner. Purchases made by cash or check will be processed through our Accounts Receivable Office. Purchases made by book voucher or financial aid will be credited to the student’s account immediately. Purchases made by credit card must be applied to that credit card.

Cancelled classes: Classes cancelled by college -- the posted return deadlines and condition criteria apply.

Study Guides/Optional Study Materials: Optional materials are refundable for one week after the date of purchase until the last 2 weeks of the semester at which time they will only be considered for book buy-back.

Defective Books: Books purchased as new found to be defective will be replaced at no charge and should be returned to the bookstore immediately. Books purchased as used will be exchanged only during the refund period and if the bookstore still has used books available.

Prerequisite class: Books and videos purchased for prerequisite or continuing classes may be returned with receipt for refund during the refund period for the prerequisite class only. Example: The book used for both Accounting I & Accounting II would only be eligible for a refund during the refund period for the Accounting I class.

Paid Reservations: Students will be notified of the book’s arrival via their e-mail account. The customer can request a full refund if needed for either two weeks after the e-mail notification is sent or at the 16 week refund period whichever is longer after which time the book will only be considered for buy back at the end of the semester. CUSTOMER’S YELLOW COPY OF THE RESERVATION FORM IS REQUIRED FOR PICK UP OR REFUND. Special orders are non-refundable.

DVDs: DVD’s purchased from the bookstore will be bought back on an AS NEEDED BASIS.

Clothing, Gifts and Supplies: Clothing, gifts, and supplies are returnable for 15 days from the date of purchase, with the receipt, in new condition, in original packaging.

TAXES

Your receipt is an official tax document. It is very important that you retain your receipt because the bookstore cannot guarantee the ability to reprint your receipt.
