Facebook 201 – Setting up a Business Facebook Page
Cost: $35
Advanced Registration: Required with payment – You will not be registered until we receive your payment

Are you a "fan" of or do you "like" other business Facebook pages, but you don‘t know where to start to establish your own? Plan to attend "Facebook 201 – Setting up a Business Facebook page" in Emporia on Tuesday, April 3 from 10:00 a.m. to noon coordinated by the ESU Kansas Small Business Development Center. You will learn how to create an engaging business page, publish it, and become a fan of your own page. You will also learn how to set privacy and upload business information including pictures, logos and websites. You MUST have a personal Facebook page to attend this class. Participants also need to bring their own laptop computer as this is a "hands on" session where you will work to create your business page.

Facebook 301 – Growing Your Business on Facebook
Cost: $35
Advanced Registration: Required with payment – You will not be registered until we receive your payment

You have a business Facebook page but are not sure how to use it for your business. Plan to attend "Facebook 301 – Growing Your Business on Facebook" in Emporia on Tuesday, April 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. coordinated by the ESU Kansas Small Business Development Center. You will learn what your business should post and how frequently, how to add fans to your business page, go viral, draw on your network, create events, optimize searches, and advertise on Facebook to market your business. Let Facebook help you grow your business for free. You MUST have a personal Facebook page to attend this class. Participants also need to bring their own laptop computer as this is a "hands on" session where you will work to improve your existing business Facebook page.

Financial Fundamentals
Cost: $25
Advanced Registration: Required &ndash one week in advance

If you are a small business owner, this workshop is for you! In this workshop you will learn how to read and prepare financial statements for your business. You will also learn about financial controls and what they mean to you and your business.

Web Design Made Easy
Cost: $35
Advanced Registration: Required with payment – You will not be registered until we receive your payment

Have you thought you needed a website for your business but do not know where to start on your own? Or are you worried that timely changes will not be made to your website? Why not create and maintain your own website. Plan to attend "Website Design Made Easy" in Andover on Tuesday, May 15 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. coordinated by the ESU Kansas Small Business Development Center. This seminar is hands on and will teach you how to build your own website and maintain it yourself using VistaPrint tools. Participants also need to bring their own laptop computer as this is a "hands on" session where you will work to create your website. A credit/debit card is required to acquire a domain name and set up your own website account during class.

State Tax Workshop
Cost: $20
Advanced Registration: Required - one week in advance

As a small business owner, you know you need to pay taxes. But where do you start? What do you really need to do? Experts from the Kansas Department of Revenue will give you the basics in this workshop. Topics covered will include sales tax, withholding tax, and record keeping. You will be shown what forms you need to file and how to fill them out.

State Tax Workshop for Contractors
Cost: $25
Advanced Registration: Required - one week in advance

This workshop is devoted exclusively to sales tax issues for contractors, subcontractors, and repairmen.  Those who provide plumbing, carpentry, electrical, roofing, heating/air conditioning, etc., services, will want to attend this specialized seminar.  We will discuss how sales tax applies to materials and labor, Project Exemption Certificates, sales tax returns, billing, and related issues.
