RN to BSN Opportunities
Butler nursing graduates are strongly encouraged to continue their education and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. With the strong nursing foundation received at Butler, a graduate can work as a registered nurse while achieving such a goal. We encourage you to search for a program that fits your nursing philosophy, recognizes your learning at Butler, and is compatible with your lifestyle. It is wise to investigate your options early in your education so you can take courses that readily transfer.
The University of Kansas (KU) and Butler Community College have an agreement whereby Butler nursing graduates can take all prerequisite courses through Butler and then take 30 upper division nursing credits online through KU to earn a Bachelor‘s Degree in Nursing from KU. For more information contact KU School of Nursing Student Affairs at 913–588–1619.
Butler Community College Department of Nursing and the School of Nursing at Wichita State University have developed a "fast track" option to facilitate the Associate Degree graduate to achieve the BSN degree. This collaborative program is called the "Professional Link for the Advancement of Nurses" (PLAN). For more information contact WSU School of Nursing at 316-978-5708 or 1-800-516-0290
