Director of Facilities Management

Full-time

 

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The full-time Director of Facilities Management is employed to maintain the college facilities, participate in facilities planning and development, and implement and oversee construction projects. Required Knowledge and Skills includes: effective leadership and management skills; knowledge of mechanical and electrical functions of the equipment of the physical plant; knowledge of planning and construction techniques; knowledge of preparing specifications for and developing construction and paving related Requests for Proposals; strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to prepare and make informative, factual, persuasive presentations to the administration and Trustees; and knowledge of local building codes, fire safety codes and ADA. Required Experience includes: a minimum of four years of related experience, including at least two years’ experience in a management or four years in a supervisory capacity.  Experience in construction, electrical and mechanical endeavors is desirable. Required Educational Background is a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management or other applicable discipline. Human Resources Assistant

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The full-time Human Resources Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative
duties and support to the Office of Human Resources and to all levels of faculty and staff, as well as
to individuals seeking employment at the college. The Human Resources Assistant reports to the
Benefits Specialist. Will be responsible for all aspects of the employee recruitment and hiring
processes, including: posting vacancy notices, listing open positions, advertising positions on the
web and newspapers and the tracking and routing of all employment application material. Will also
perform support services and general office duties. Required knowledge and skills include: the
ability to communicate clearly and effectively; possess strong written and verbal communication skills;
possess organizational skills; and possess good independent judgment and decision
making skills. Required experience includes: experience with Excel and computerized database

Associate Dean, Behavioral Science, Math, Science, Education, Fitness and Wellness
Full-time

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The full-time Associate Dean is responsible for working with the Dean of Behavioral Science, Math, Science, Education, Fitness and Wellness in the development, implementation, and supervision of curriculum and instruction within the division. The Associate Dean will assist the Dean in the supervision of full-time and part-time faculty, instructional support staff, and other personnel as assigned within the division. The Associate Dean works under the supervision of the Dean of Behavioral Science, Math, Science, Education, Fitness and Wellness. Disciplines assigned to this division include: Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, Education, Fitness and Wellness. Required knowledge and skills include: the ability to interact professionally and effectively with faculty, administration, staff, students and community; the ability to use independent judgment; excellent organizational and time management skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills; general knowledge of budgeting and purchasing procedures and basic word processing, spreadsheet and database management computer skills. Required experience includes successful teaching/training experience in a discipline within the division (community college experience preferred) and demonstrated success in an organizational leadership role (administrative/ management experience preferred). A Master’s degree is required, with a Bachelor’s degree from an academic discipline assigned to the division also required. Custodial Technician
Part-time/28 hours per week/4:00 a.m. – 09:30 a.m.

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
This part-time position is responsible for cleaning offices, hallways, stairwells, rest rooms, classrooms, maintenance areas and public areas. Each area will have specific duties to attend to. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be flexible in working routine in order to accommodate the many changes of college events. Enterprise Systems Finance Specialist

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Enterprise Applications & Portal Services team is a highly motivated group of individuals who are charged with supporting the college’s critical line of business infrastructure, as well as the customer’s functional use of it. The Enterprise Systems Specialist position works with other departmental staff to support the customer’s use of the infrastructure that includes ERP, portal (e-mail, groups, etc.), reporting, and imaging. Required knowledge and skills include: excellent knowledge of financial reporting and accounting practices; knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database structures; knowledge of Windows Client & Server, Sun Solaris, XML, and TCP/IP networking concepts; high standard of professionalism, demonstrated through attitude and self-presentation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer oriented, able to elicit requirements to a problem and produce a product that meets expectations; ability to work with MS Office Suite to produce documentation and other deliverables; knowledge of project management concepts and tools; self-directed, able to complete multiple tasks within specified timelines with little supervision and produce results with little to no rework; ability to perform analytical studies based on variable quality attributes to develop well-defined solutions that integrate with the institution’s existing infrastructure; ability to adapt in an ever changing environment; ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and communicate the divisional mission through daily interactions with customers and co-workers; ability to lead or work as part of a team to achieve a common goal; ability to comprehend and follow documented procedures to complete a task; ability to assist in the configuration, testing, and rollout of large scale software implementations; and the ability to learn new concepts and methodologies. Required experience includes: experience in training groups or individuals regarding the use of computers and related technology; experience with higher education (or equivalent) information systems; minimum of two years programming experience in two or more of the following areas: PL/SQL, UNIX shell scripting, C, Visual Basic .NET, C#, Java, C++, ASP .NET, ColdFusion; minimum of two years experience working in Windows and UNIX environments; and minimum of two years’ experience using tools such as Oracle Reports, Evisions Argos, or Crystal Reports. Required educational background includes: a Bachelor’s degree in a computer or business related discipline. NOTE: This requirement may be substituted with appropriate IT certifications or relevant work experience per the discretion of the CIO and/or Director of Enterprise Applications & Portal Services. HVAC and Maintenance Technician
Full-time

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The full-time Maintenance Technician is a limited supervision position that is responsible for maintaining favorable environmental conditions in the college’s building facilities. The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and regular maintenance and repair on all college HVAC systems. The Technician will also be required to perform some electrical and plumbing duties and assist other Facilities Management departments as needed. This position reports directly to the Supervisor of General Maintenance. Required Knowledge and Skills include: showing pride in craftsmanship; the ability to do trade related mathematics; the ability to effectively communicate with other trades; the ablity to safely direct assigned helpers; be able to make diagnostic decisions based on education, experience, and instrument readiness; be able to read and update electrical and control diagrams; be CFE certified type U Universal or able to obtain within 6 months of employment; be able to balance air flow and set variable volume boxes; and be able to keep up to date on E.P.A. regulations and practices to remain in compliance with refrigerant recovery and reclaiming safe storage Clean Air Act. Preferred Experience: licensed journeyman with a minimum of 4 years’ experience. Required Educational Background includes: documented job-related training. High school diploma or equivalent required. Special Characteristics include: must possess a valid Kansas Driver's License; must be willing to work second shift, overtime and weekends as required; must be able to work at various heights; must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and work in awkward positions; must be able to work indoors and outdoors; and must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Public Safety Officer
Temporary/Part-time/28 hours per week/

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The part-time Public Safety Officer (PSO) is responsible to provide a walking and driving patrol of the campus to provide facility and personnel protection, assistance, and the security of the college property. Will also be responsible for regular checks of air conditioning and heating systems, security checks of buildings and alarms and reporting malfunctions to proper authorities. Will also enforce parking regulations, provide escort service and assist campus visitors. Frequent vigorous physical activity required; must be able to perform a continuous 8 hours walking shift, including climbing steps and ramps. Must have flexibility in working hours. Must have knowledge of radio operation, some mechanical, electrical and plumbing and possess basic computer skills to send and receive e-mail and prepare documents using word processing and spreadsheets. Must possess a valid driver’s license. High school diploma required with 2 years of college preferred. Prior military or security experience preferred. The minimum age requirement is twenty-one (21) years of age. This provides an authority of legal age to enforce alcoholic beverage use regulations.
