Customer Service/Enrollment Secretary

Part time/20 hours per week

 

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Customer Service Secretary, Andover campus, manages incoming calls for Butler of Andover and performs routine and non-routine secretarial and support tasks for the Customer Service Offices and for full-time and part-time instructors and staff as needed. Required Knowledge and Skills include: the ability to answer multi-line phones and direct calls to many stations; be familiar with aspects of the college operation; strong communication and human relation skills; the ability to follow directions or work independently if necessary; the ability to follow varied written and oral instructions; the ability to exercise good judgment in a wide variety of situations; personal computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn other PC applications; the ability to maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of students, staff members, faculty members, and the general public; the ability to train student workers and staff members in related areas; and the ability to meet the public and display a professional appearance. On-Line Bookstore Supervisor /Bookstore Software Specialist

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

As Supervisor of the On-Line Bookstore the position is responsible to the Bookstore Operations Manager for establishing and maintaining the clothing and gift items available on the web-site as well as processing and fulfillment of online orders for textbooks and clothing/gift items. As Bookstore Software Specialist this position is responsible to the Bookstore Operations Manager for all of the issues involving the Bookstore’s unique software applications. This includes installation, upgrades and maintenance. Required Knowledge and Skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong problem solving and analytical skills; customer oriented, able to elicit requirements to a problem and produce a product that meets expectations; ability to work with MS Office Suite to produce documentation and other deliverables; the ability to lead or work as part of a team to achieve a common goal; ability to comprehend and follow documented procedures to complete a task; be self-directed, able to complete multiple tasks within specified timelines with little supervision and produce results with little to no rework; must be able to work effectively under stressful situations dealing with long hours and deadlines; must be able to stock shelves, retrieve student’s books and to lift heavy boxes, (approximately 45-50 lbs.) repetitively; and possess knowledge of  photography and the ability to edit photographs for online store merchandise. Required Experience: basic knowledge of databases and how to perform tasks such as data imports and exports; basic knowledge of MS Office suite; basic knowledge of windows client and server operating systems; and previous experience in a customer service role. Previous experience managing software licensing and purchasing and previous experience working with third-party vendors preferred. Required Educational Background: at least 30 hours of college credit required (with a portion of college credit hours in computer classes). Associate’s degree in a computing related field preferred. Assistant Toddler Teacher

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Maintenance Technician

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Lead Technician

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician performs maintenance and repair on all campus HVAC systems. The Technician also does minor electrical and plumbing installations, repairs and maintenance. This position has supervisory authority while under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of General Services- Facilities Management. Required knowledge and skills include: must show pride in craftsmanship; ability to do trade related mathematics; must be able to communicate with other trades; must be able to safely direct helpers under him; make diagnostic decisions based on education, experience and instrument readiness; ability to climb, stood, bend and work in awkward positions; cannot be afraid of heights; ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; can work indoors and outdoors; can work overtime and weekends in emergencies; must be CFC certified type U Universal; must either know or be able to measure existing chilled water, hot water and air flow rates, valve CV and flow coefficients; must be able to balance air flow and set variable volume boxes; must be able to calculate heat gain and cooling load to properly size heating and cooling equipment; and must keep up to date in E.P.A. regulations and practices to remain in compliance. Refrigerant recovery and reclaiming safe storage clean air act. Required experience includes: be working licensed journeyman with a minimum of 8 years experience. Student Support Services Math Specialist

Part-time/10 hours per week

The SSS Math Specialist will be responsible to the SSS Project Director for planning and coordinating services to grant participants. Through tutoring, curriculum development, supplemental math instruction and personal support plans the Math Specialist will assist program students in achieving progress toward goal attainment. He/She will be responsible for coordinating training and support for SSS Peer Tutors. The position requires flexible work hours including evening hours. Required knowledge and skills include strong organizational and communication skills, good judgment and maturity, a cooperative attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. Director of IT Institute (Grant-funded position)

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Director will be responsible to the CTE/ATC Dean for planning, directing, and coordinating the development and delivery of the information Technology (IT) Institute as outlined in the federal grant from the Department of Labor. The Director will serve as the US Department of Labor (DOL) point of contact for the grant and is responsible for the implementation of the grant in accordance and compliance with the DOL contract. He/she is responsible for performance reporting, fiscal reporting, and procurement. He/she will provide internal coordination and management of the project, industry partners, reporting, budget management, compliance, communication, marketing, and outcomes. The Director maintains positive collaborative relationships and ongoing communication with students, Deans, faculty, grant management teams, grant sponsor, and industry partners. Required knowledge and skills include: demonstrated experience in the use of management information systems for data collection and analysis; demonstrated experience to apply pedagogy to curriculum; the ability to interact professionally and effectively with faculty, administration, staff, students, and community; the ability to use independent judgment with exceptional organizational and time management skills; demonstrated oral and written communication skills; basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database management computer skills; knowledge of curriculum development, knowledge of group process, effective communication skills with individuals, and groups, effective leadership skills, effective public speaking skills, effective organizational skills; proven leadership capabilities; and the ability to work as a team member to assist in the efficient operation of the IT Institute. Required Experience includes: three years of direct management of state and federal grant programs including personnel and budget management; experience and demonstrated understanding of higher education administrative structures and practices; strong interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work as a member of a leadership team; and teaching, administration, or program management experience. Community College experience preferred. Required Educational Background includes a Master’s degree. Director of College Relations & Marketing

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

     The Director of Marketing and College Relations is responsible to the Vice President of Advancement for planning, implementing and evaluating marketing and communications efforts that increase awareness of and enrollment at Butler Community College. This position oversees promotions, public relations, college relations, Content Management System (CMS) and web presence, social media, and communication strategies that fulfill the college’s strategic plan.

     The Director of Marketing and College Relations works closely with the Advancement division, Enrollment management, Institutional research, Web services and the President’s office to identify market segments and communicate effectively.  The position prioritizes projects that contribute to enrollment by accessing research, working collaboratively with various divisions, departments and colleagues and develops strategies that embrace our brand promise. The Director of Marketing and College Relations is the chief liaison for media buys, works within the requirements of the budget and maintains positive working relationships with creative agencies and vendors.

     Required Knowledge and Skills: demonstrated understanding and articulation of college mission, vision and strategic priorities; experience with planning, implementing and evaluating effective marketing campaigns that increase awareness of the college and enrollment; graphic design and media layout knowledge; ability to work within budget requirements and analyze spending effectiveness; ability to analyze marketing research; ability to communicate through strong writing and verbal skills; ability to distribute various advertising and public relations materials in targeted and effective ways; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage the marketing process, including strategic planning, budget and project management, creative and conceptual design; and the ability to strategically leverage resources in efficient, effective and measurable manner. Required Experience: documented experience with successful outcomes to include media relations in situations of crisis or pride; CMS and web presence oversight experience; proven experience in a marketing environment; experience in higher education preferred; administrative/supervisory experience; writing for advertising and/or public relations; campaign/marketing experience, including advertising and public relations at the local, metro and/or national level; computer and technology skills; preferred knowledge of Mac and PC platforms and software; and experience planning and managing a substantial annual budget. Required Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications and a Master’s degree in related field.
