EMT Requirements and Fees
Getting Started:
Orientation: January 18: 9am – Noon, 5000 Building in Andover– Kanza Room
Enroll: FS-212 EMT (12 credit hours). Please note there are occasional Friday and Saturday class sessions, a schedule shall be provided during the course orientation.
Complete: a background check and drug screen – instructions below.
Fees collected with tuition:
- $100 - Lab fee
- $85 – Platinum EMS Testing / Planner
- $75 - State skills exam fee
- $55 - Uniform
These fees are the student’s responsibility:
- $50 – KS Board of EMS background check
- $104 – National Registry written exam fee
- $70 – BCC background check & drug screen
What will you learn in EMT?
The EMT student learns to provide basic life support care to ill or injured patients. Some of the skills you will learn are patient assessments on trauma and medical patients, managing wounds and bleeding, immobilizing fractures, performing CPR, using automated external defibrillators, and administer certain medications in the pre-hospital setting.

- Drug testing: Go to collection site listed on the authorization form
