Students Discover How to “Learn from the Past, Live in the Present, and Dream of the Future”
Butler’s Vocal Music Department to Perform Part Two of a Three-Concert Series
Butler Community College’s Vocal Music Department is performing the second part of its three-part series entitled “Past, Present, Future...” This winter concert is ‘the present’. To honor the present the vocal groups will sing songs from modern artists. The department performed “Past” this last fall and will perform “Future” this spring.
Butler A Cappella, The Chamber Singers, Butler Ladies and Concert Choir will perform from ‘the present’; some songs include “Radioactive,” performed by Butler A Cappella, “Weep No More,” performed by Butler Ladies and “Magnificat,” by John Rutter performed by the Chamber Singers. The Chamber Singers will be accompanied by Butler’s Chamber Orchestra, this gives the full effect of a masterpiece work of music.
In the show, the choirs will perform in a more traditional style that best suits the chosen music. Because the show choirs will not be dancing in this concert, the groups will be able to utilize an acoustic sound shell to enhance the listening experience.
The Vocal Music faculty includes Valerie Lippoldt-Mack, Chair of Vocal Music and Dance, as well as Matthew Udland, Chad Ingram and Nick Engels.
