2018 Foundation Board
2018 Butler Community College Foundation gains two new board members
The Butler Foundation has added two new faces to its governing body. Retired nursing faculty Janice Jones and ICI President Ryan Murry were voted onto the board earlier in July.
Jones is a familiar face to the college, having also served on the Alumni Board of Directors from 2000-2004. She retired from teaching in 2013 after more than 30 years in Butler’s nursing department and was the guest speaker at the 2015 Reaching New Heights Scholarship Luncheon. Jones and her husband Terry contribute to the Don and Jean Domann Scholarship, which the couple started in 1990 to honor Jones’ parents.
Murry also has a longstanding relationship with Butler. ICI is a steadfast supporter of the college, especially athletics and the Butler Benefit Auction. Murry’s father Tom was instrumental in the building and completion of the BG Products Veterans Sports Complex and Murry himself secured donations for the track at the stadium, named after El Dorado High School coach, Galen Blackmore.
“Our Board of Directors set the tone for the current and future health and strategic direction of the Butler Foundation,” Vice President of Advancement Stacy Cofer said. “We are extremely fortunate to have a prudent, generous, and forward-thinking group to guide us. Janice and Ryan are no exception.”
The Foundation Board of Directors meets quarterly and governs the operations and investments of the Foundation. Board members serve three-year terms and represent the communities surrounding Butler Community College.
