New Dean at Butler
Christy Streeter appointed New Dean
Butler employee, Christy Streeter, was named the Dean of Health, Education and Public Services. For almost four years, Streeter has led Butler Community College’s Early College Academies. Under her leadership the Academies have flourished, being named the ACT National Exemplar Winner for the Career and Preparedness Award and expanding its reach to Andover and El Dorado.
Prior to coming to Butler, Streeter worked as a teacher, highway patrol dispatcher and in the mental health field. Although originally from Colorado, Streeter has traveled the world – doing mission work in Africa, South America, Europe and Asia. She holds a bachelor and master’s degree in theology from Life-Christian University.
Along with raising her six children on her mini-farm in Rose Hill, Streeter helps students find their passion.
“I look forward to continue to focus on student success, which is one of Butler’s core values,” Streeter said. “I will continue to partner and expand our community outreach in all the varied aspects of the education fields of nursing, education and public service.”
Streeter is replacing longtime dean, Anita Mills. Mills has accepted a job with Ascension.
