High school students, parents to learn about earning college degree, high school diploma simultaneously
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler Community College is hosting an Early College Academy open house from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, February 24 at the 5000 Building on 715 E. 13th St. in Andover and Tuesday, February 25 at 712 S. Rose Hill Rd. in Rose Hill.
Prospective students and parents are invited to join Butler faculty and staff for a come-and-go open house to learn more about the Early College Academy programs. Program presentations start at 6:20 p.m.
Patrons will be able to learn about Butler’s nationally recognized Early College Academy, which allows for high school sophomores and juniors to start their college career and potentially graduate with a two-year college degree the same weekend they graduate high school by spending half of their time in college courses.
Academies include business & entrepreneurship, cyber security, engineering technology, game and simulation design, culinary arts, early childhood education, welding, aviation, education, health sciences and humanities.
The event will include a tour of the campuses and light refreshments.
