Butler’s online degrees now extend to 25

Butler Community College announced this week that two of its Agricultural degrees are now offered completely online. The Associate of Science in Agriculture and the Associate of Science in Agribusiness degrees are now part of the college’s online program offerings.

According to Joe Leibbrandt, academic lead instructor for both programs, these online Ag options are a great way for working students to still access the agricultural knowledge base needed to strengthen their career for the long-term in the industry.

“The flexibility of the online instruction now meets the needs of those in production agriculture,” said Leibbrandt. “There are no set class schedules so students can pace their learning with the unpredictable ebb and flow of the weather and their various farm and ranch responsibilities.”

Graduates of the program can transfer to a four-year degree and choose to major in any agricultural science field or utilize their skills immediately by joining the workforce or impacting the family operation. Leibbrandt said many of Butler’s graduates are top students at the nation’s best agriculture schools like Kansas State University, Texas Tech University and Oklahoma State University.

Butler Online has been utilizing technology to teach at a distance since 1998. Currently, the division offers 25 degrees and more than 1,000 online offerings. Student success is deemed essential and therefore resources such as 24/7 online tutoring and a virtual math lab are readily available to support student needs. For more information about joining Butler’s online AG programs, email [email protected], call 316.733.3255, or apply for free at www.Butlercc.edu/apply
