Butler’s Art Gallery presents works that bind humans together

The Butler Community College Art Department is hosting “What Binds Us Art Exhibit” from September 30 to October 29 at the Erman B. White Gallery of Art. The show highlights art by Autumn Noire, Michella Tripoli, Shannon Johnston, Amanda Dickinson Pfister, Brenda Vargas, Debbie Harbin-Wagner, Barbara Waterman-Peters, Alexis Rivierre, Bernardo Trevizo Jr., Morgan Ford Willingham, and Kelly Yarbrough.

The artist reception will be held Thursday, October 21 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Erman B. White Gallery of Art, located in the 700 Building on the main campus in El Dorado.

“What Binds Us” is an exhibition loosely based on Jane Hirshfield’s poem of the same title. The exhibition explores the forces, processes, materials, and actions that bind people together. “What Binds Us” examines the idea of connections in all forms in a season where people have been kept apart from their friends, family, and everyday activities. Work was selected by Butler art professors Trisha Coates and Rachel Foster, co-directors of the E.B. White Art Gallery on the El Dorado campus.

The E.B. White Gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check the Fine Arts and Communication Division Events Calendar for more upcoming events.
