Life Enrichment to Feature Filmmakers who Founded the Seldom Heard Film Festival
Adam Dreher and Nick Abt will share their stories and feature their films
Butler Community College’s Life Enrichment will host Adam Dreher and Nick Abt Tuesday, April 5 at 9 a.m.
Dreher and Abt will show their films, Buffalo Roam, Ending with a Discouraging Word and Medicine Hills. They will discuss how they founded the Seldom Heard Film Festival that took place in Augusta last fall, featuring five films and three documentaries, all Kansas stories by Kansas filmmakers.
The duo is hosting the next Seldom Heard Film Festival on October 15, 2022, in Augusta. They plan to add a student section for high school filmmakers and hope to add a Kansas Makers Festival before the film festival for Kansas people to sell their goods.
Dreher is the owner of Adler Grey Videography and Buffalo Roam Supply Co.
Abt is the founder of Scenic Kansas (scenicks.com) and owner of ABT Films. He is a Florida transplant who fell in love with Kansas and has been instrumental in building up Kansas love and tourism.
Life Enrichment meets on the first Tuesday morning of the month during the school year. Area adults enjoy high-quality speakers and performers, along with a light breakfast and coffee during each regular meeting. Meetings take place in the Clifford/Stone Community Room at the Hubbard Welcome Center on the El Dorado campus. Meetings are open to everyone and there is no charge to attend. Those who attend regularly are encouraged to register so they receive monthly newsletters announcing the programs. New members are always welcome.
