Butler Instrumental Music Department comes back with their spring concert season
Make plans to attend two instrumental spring concerts
Butler Community College Instrumental Music Department will perform the annual spring instrumental concert Apr. 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the College Fine Arts Theatre on the Butler of El Dorado campus.
Tickets are free to the public, but reservations are requested. To reserve tickets, visit the box office or call (316) 322-3262 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The concert will feature the Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Show Band, with additional performances by the Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble.
The program will also include selections ranging from “Second Suite in F” by Gustav Holst to the Finale from “The Empire Strikes Back” by John Williams. In addition, the Jazz Ensemble and Show Band will perform a variety of jazz and pop music, including the theme from “The Flintstones” to “Soul Man.”
The Instrumental Music Department will also be busy with the next Instrumental Chamber Music Recital series concert on May 2, 3, and 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Clifford/Stone room of the R.D. Hubbard Welcome Center located on the Butler of El Dorado campus.
The Chamber Recital concerts are open to the public and free of charge. Seating is general admission.
The Chamber concert will feature the Brass Ensemble and solo performances by Butler Brass students on Monday May 2, the Woodwind Ensemble and solo performances by Butler Woodwind students on Tuesday May 3, the Percussion Ensemble and solo performances by Butler Percussion students on Wednesday May 4.
