Butler FBLA Chapter Wins Big at National Conference
Impressive results include Butler's first national champion in over 16 years.
The Butler Community College chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) received top finishes in multiple competitive categories at the FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference held last month in Atlanta, Georgia.
All nine qualified students placed in their respective competitions, with Thara Lee Kenmarla Casimir of Haiti earning first place in the Digital Media category. Casimir is Butler’s first National Champion in over a decade and a half.
“When you consider [our] students are competing against students who qualified for Nationals by winning their state events, it really is impressive,” said Butler professor and FBLA advisor Jared McGinley. “Even more so when you consider our students are competing against students
from four-year universities, who are finishing their degrees in the fields they compete in.”
Butler also received second place in the Outstanding Chapter competition, and chapter president Kaelib Harp of Wichita was elected as the 2023-24 National Vice President for Financial Development.
