Fiber Optics Bootcamp at Butler Community College Offers Three Certifications
Career and Workforce Education offers five days of fiber optics training, FOA membership.

Interested in the future of internet and telecommunications? Ever consider a career path in this high-demand industry? The Career and Workforce Education department of Butler Community College is hosting a five-day Fiber Optics bootcamp on August 19 – 23 at the Butler of Andover campus from 8 am – 5 pm.
Upon successful completion, students receive three certifications recognized by the Fiber Optics Association: Certified Fiber Optics Technician, Certified Fiber Optics Specialist/Splicing and Certified Fiber Optics Specialist/Testing & Maintenance. Students also receive one year membership with the association. Learn more about each certification here.
Students 18 and above are welcome with no prior experience necessary. Please note financial aid does not cover this bootcamp and no college credit is offered alongside the certifications.

Local salaries for this field vary depending on company, position and experience. Currently, most Fiber Optics Technicians earn between $19.28 - $28.08 in Kansas, with higher earnings reaching in the $40 an hour range.
