Byram continues to advance Butler technologies, learning success after 22 years.

Christina Byram officially accepted the role of Vice President of Digital Transformation and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Butler Community College. Byram’s tenure at Butler continues after 22 years of service and multiple positions. 

Byram most previously served as the Deputy CIO and Director of Unified Communications at the college. She also served as the Interim Vice President of Digital Transformation and CIO. Advancing student success, technology and leadership remain at the forefront of Byram’s priorities as she shifts into her new, official positions. 

The Digital Transformation team is designed to create and maintain a digital infrastructure that meets the needs of Butler’s learning community while adhering to digital safety and security protocols. The team is future-focused addressing the current demands while constantly assessing and planning further advancements. 

“Christina brings great leadership and experience to her position as Vice President of Digital Transformation,” Butler Community College President Dr. Kim Krull expressed. “She leads by example through collaborative communication, creating an innovative vision, and empowering those around her to deliver high-quality results college-wide.”   

Byram started at Butler as a Lead Tec-E and soon moved to a full-time Computer Support Technician staff member. She has held many key leadership positions during her Butler career, successfully leading impactful projects. Such initiatives include a seamless Data Center relocation and expansion and a multi-campus safety design. Her efforts have focused on learning support for the Butler community and enhancing digital literacy. 

Byram brings education to her official roles, including a CompTIA A+ Certification and an associate degree from Butler. She has also obtained a Senior Leadership certification from Educause Leadership Institute and an ITIL 3 Foundation Leadership certification from the Information Technology Infrastructure Library. 

To increase her impact on Butler digital progress and future technology leaders, Byram is completing the Chief Information Officer program, a rigorous six-month training at Carnegie Mellon University. 

Byram goes out of her way to mentor student workers and others in technologies. She contributes to others’ technology pursuits and keeps stakeholders in mind with all projects. She values collaborative efforts with peer institutions and uses those efforts to drive learning success, especially for Butler students. 

In her personal life, Byram is a wife and mother of two boys who loves doing outdoor activities with her family, including tending to her many farm and domestic animals.
