Krull honored for tenure on Workforce Alliance Board.

At the recent Workforce Innovation Conference in Salina, KS, hosted by the Kansas Department of Commerce and the Kansas Board of Regents, Butler President Dr. Kim Krull was named the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Service Award.

Each year, a member of the Workforce Alliance of South-Central Kansas Workforce Board is selected to receive the award in recognition of their Board tenure. Having served on the Board since 2013, Dr. Krull was noted in the award letter for her active role in the community and her involvement with a number of local groups.

“Dr. Krull is a recognized leader among her peers and has served in several leadership roles during her career,” said Keith A. Lawing, president and chief executive officer of the Kansas Workforce Alliance. “She is a catalyst and leader in the ongoing successful partnership between the Workforce Alliance and Butler Community College.”

As she nears retirement, Dr. Krull says she is proud of the work she’s done as a member of the Board. “Since coming to Butler, it’s been a privilege to serve on the Workforce Alliance of South-Central Kansas Board. Together, our partnership has created impact with a focus on youth employment, adult education and area workforce needs. It was truly an honor to be recognized with the Outstanding Service Award for Local Area IV.”

“She is not a token Board member that just shows up at a couple of meetings per year,” said Lawing. “As a Board member she has taken on a number of tasks including serving on the Finance Committee, being part of Board task forces and continuing to engage [Butler] as a Workforce Alliance partner.”
