Butler Community College Music Department to Present Celebration of Freedom Concert
Concert part of Veterans Day celebrations across El Dorado.
In honor of Veterans Day, the Butler Community College Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble will present a Celebration of Freedom Concert on Sunday, November 10, at 7 p.m. in the Clifford/Stone Room at the R.D. Hubbard Welcome Center in El Dorado. The concert is one of several Veterans Day events organized by the Celebration of Freedom Committee and the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce.
The Butler Concert Band will perform traditional American favorites such as “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful.” Additionally, the band will perform the “Celebration of Freedom March,” a new piece composed by retired Butler Pep Band director John Templin. The Jazz Ensemble will perform standards from the big band era including “The American Patrol,” “Take the ‘A’ Train” and “Pennsylvania 6-5000.”
“Butler Bands have been involved in the El Dorado Celebration of Freedom for many years. It is a great opportunity for us to serve our local community and honor our veterans,” says Butler Director of Bands Brett Martinez.
