Butler Hosts Andover Central Middle School Students for “Reality U”

Over 250 middle school students attend career prep workshop
Butler Community College hosted Andover Central Middle School’s Reality U event on Tuesday, February 11, in the Clifford/Stone Room at the El Dorado Campus Welcome Center. Over 250 8th graders attended the workshops throughout the day.
Reality U prepares middle school students for the future by presenting them with everyday life scenarios and teaching them budgeting skills. The event introduces students to career opportunities, academic requirements and salary potential.
The annual event was led by Vice President of Academics Dr. Barry Robinson and the Butler Admissions team, who welcomed students to campus. Early College Academy administrators then discussed college course opportunities for the soon-to-be high schoolers, and students took a tour of several buildings around campus as well as the Butler fire truck and ambulance.
