Butler’s Theatre Department Presents A Year with Frog and Toad: The Musical

Public performances of annual Theatre for Young Audiences production were held February 22
Butler Community College’s Fine Arts Department excitedly presented their annual Theatre for Young Audiences production. This year’s show was A Year with Frog and Toad: The Musical by Robert and Willie Reale. Public showings took place on Saturday, February 22, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Butler Theatre at the El Dorado campus.
Based on the book by Arnold Lobel, A Year with Frog and Toad follows the two friends, Frog and Toad, through all four seasons as they embark on adventures, face challenges and rely on their enduring friendship. The show was directed by Theatre Department Chair Leslie Coates, with musical direction by Vocal Music Professor Matthew Udland.
“Like all of us, Frog and Toad face many obstacles over the course of a year. Things get dicey, even scary, at times [but] it sure is nice to have a good friend to endure them,” said Coates.
The show ran approximately one hour and included a live orchestra and 16 cast members.
