Butler Community College Announces Presidential Search Finalists

Candidates to visit campus for interviews, faculty and community meetings.

Butler Community College is pleased to announce the names of the four finalists for its ongoing presidential search. In alphabetical order, the finalists are Dr. Samuel “Todd” Brand, Dr. Tamara Daniel, Dr. Marc Malone and Dr. Greg Nichols.

Starting March 31, each finalist will be welcomed to campus for a day of tours, official interviews and meetings, including a specific forum for community and business partners from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day. View the full daily schedule here.

PRESIDENTIAL FINALISTS

Dr. Samuel “Todd” Brand has spent twenty-five years working in the field of higher education.  Originally from Mendenhall, Mississippi, Dr. Brand currently serves as Interim President and CEO of Big Sandy Community & Technical College in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He has completed the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy and the American Association of Community Colleges’ Future Presidents Institute. 

Dr. Tamara Daniel is a first-generation college graduate with more than 25 years of leadership experience in the community college sector. She currently serves as Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH). Her experience spans diverse institutions, from large urban community colleges with multiple campuses to midrange and rural colleges.

Dr. Marc Malone has more than 14 years of experience advancing education, student success, and workforce development within the Kansas Community College system. He is the current Vice President for Instructional Services and Chief Academic Officer at Garden City Community College in Garden City, KS, where he leads all instruction, workforce development, and institutional continuous improvement activities including accreditation.

Dr. Gregory A. Nichols has been President and CEO of Salina Area Technical College since 2016.  During his tenure, Salina Tech initiated various new programs including Early Childhood Education, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Police Science, Fire Science, Industrial Maintenance and Automation and Pharmacy Technician. The college also expanded its relationships with area USDs to provide affordable general and technical education to high school students.
