Language Growth

Only about 20 percent of the U.S. population can speak a second language. When you master another language and understand its culture, you set yourself apart in the workforce. Opportunities in both the public and private sectors increase for graduates who can speak a second language and have cross-cultural understanding.

Expand your world view and employment market value by learning another language, such as Spanish, French, Japanese or Russian.

Fulfill Degree Requirements

These courses fulfill the humanities requirements in degree programs and the foreign language major. The department also offers specialized training for those who need technical language skills for specific occupations.

Careers In Foreign Language

You will find language the perfect addition to careers in politics, education, business or law, just to name a few. Many employers see the advantage of hiring people who can help their organization compete in the global marketplace.

Speaking another language advances work in fields such as domestic and international business, social work and child protective services. You can also make an impact in marketing and public relations, travel or investigative journalism, and many more.
